The Judy LaMarsh Fund
The Judy LaMarsh Fund is the living legacy of a remarkable female Liberal politician. LaMarsh is one of the most distinguished women in Canadian history. As Canada's first woman federal Liberal Cabinet Minister, she ushered in some of the most progressive legislation of the 1960s.
Judy LaMarsh died October 27, 1980. The Liberal Party established the Judy LaMarsh Fund in 1984, in tribute to her. The Fund provides financial support to federal women Liberal candidates. Money is still one of the major barriers facing women who would like to run for Parliament. Even today, in the 21st century, there are still too few women in the House of Commons. We mean to change that. The board and thousands of generous donors are working hard to even the odds.
With your help the Judy LaMarsh Fund will ensure that women have the financial backing and organization they need to run - and win.

Margaret Campbell
Margaret Campbell was a most active and visible female Liberal, serving in public office for more than two decades. During her distinguished career, Ms. Campbell served as a member of city council, as a provincial court judge and eventually became a Member of Provincial Parliament. Ms. Campbell was a distinguished female Liberal Member of Provincial Parliament. She was first elected in 1973 representing the riding of St. George and throughout her career she worked tirelessly for many causes. From 1973 to 1981 Margaret served as both a member and chair of several standing committees. She led the crusade for women’s rights, as well as the fight for better health care and improvements to the justice system. When she passed away in 1999, one of the beneficiaries of the fund in her name, M.P.P. Lyn McLeod, described her as being both a “formidable” member of the legislature and a “caring, compassionate person” who was a “social visionary”.

In 1984 The Margaret Campbell Fund was established to help raise funds in support of female Liberal candidates. The Ontario Women’s Liberal Commission supports this fund through an annual fundraiser which features female provincial and federal cabinet ministers as guest speakers. The ability to successfully raise enough funds to mount an effective campaign is, sadly, still an obstacle that female candidates face today. The Margaret Campbell Fund strives to offer the financial support that female candidates deserve.
